Obituary

Mr. William Carlton Maddox, husband of Margie Thigpen Maddox, entered into rest on Saturday, January 28, 2017 at his residence.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at Platt’s Crawford Avenue Chapel with the Rev. Michael Davenport officiating. Burial will follow at Westview Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Mr. Maddox was a native of Augusta, but had lived for many years in Savannah. He was employed by Prudential Insurance Company, first as a sales agent, then as area manager. He attended Isle of Hope Methodist Church for many years, and was also a Mason and a member of the American Legion. As a volunteer of the United States Army, he served in two wars as a combat infantryman.

He is survived by his wife, Margie Maddox, and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his only child, his beloved son, Bill.

Pallbearers will be Charles Wood, Nathan Maddox, Dino Maddox and Ed Muns.
