PORTLAND- Lynda Jean MacDonald of Portland - born June 11, 1947 passed away peacefully on January 27, 2017 at the Gosnell House in Scarborough. She was a long time employee for Goodwill and known for her tendency to be fiercely independent and often bossy. She made us laugh often with her directness and could command the room with an eye roll. She spent her retirement days making lots of mittens for children and donated them all to schools and shelters. She is predeceased by her parents Edward and Jean MacDonald. She has two sisters - Gail DesRochers (fiancé John MacLean) and Joyce Cote (husband Richard Cote). One niece Renee Cote and four nephews - Richard Cote Jr., Jarid York (fiancé Brie Plummer), Joseph Cote and John Cote. Great niece Audrey, great nephews Oscar and Dylan. Most significantly her best friend Mildred Fortune who was her faithful sidekick for more than four decades. They could often be sighted in matching shirts at the mall together. Elvis has left the building and he has taken Lynda with him this time.
Burial will occur in June on her Birthday.
