FALL RIVER… Rita Pontes, 87, of Fall River passed away Wednesday, January 25, 2017.
Born in Fall River, she was a daughter of the late Manuel and Mary (Costa) Pontes and was a lifelong resident of Fall River.
Rita was a communicant of Espirito Santo Church and had worked in various mills as a sewing machine operator. She enjoyed reading, walking, jigsaw puzzles and vacationing.
Survivors include 2 brothers: Edward M. Pontes of Fall River, & John R. Pontes of California, a sister: Evelyn Cabral of Fall River, many nieces and nephews. She was sister of the late Ceclia Borges.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited to will be Tuesday, January 31st at
8 AM from SOUTH COAST FUNERAL HOME, 1555 Pleasant Street, Fall River, followed by aMass of Christian Burial at 9AM at Espirito Santo Church, Alden Street, Fall River. Interment will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Stafford Rd. Calling hours will be held Monday January, 30th from 5 - 8 PM.
