Obituary

Robert A. White a 20 year resident of Amesbury and former lifelong resident of Charlestown died on Thursday August 25, 2005 at Kindred Hospital in Peabody following a long illness. He was 72 years old.

Robert was born in Boston and grew up in Charlestown where he attended Boston Public Schools and graduated from Charlestown High School in 1951. He enlisted into the United States AirForce in June of 1953. He served during the Korean Conflict and was discharged as an Airman First Class in May of 1957. Following his discharge, he began working as an electrician. He began working for Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge as a Senior Electrician. He retired in 1997. He was a member of the Old Charlestown Schoolboys Association.

Robert is the loving husband of Reed J. (Locke) White. He is the devoted father of Donna White of Maine, David White and his wife Jackie of Lowell, Daniel White and his wife Maureen of Burlington, Deborah White of Florida, Dennis White and his wife Debra of Tewksbury and Diane Brown and her husband Tom of Amesbury. He is the loving grandfather of 10 grandchildren. He is the brother of the late Edward, Thomas, John, Francis, Bernard and Philip White.

Robert's Funeral will be held on Monday August 29, 2005 from the Frank H. Carr Funeral Home 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown at 10 am. followed by his Funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church 55 Warren St. Charlestown at 11 am. A reception immediately following the Mass at Knights of Columbus Hall, 75 West School St. Charlestown. Relatives and friends are invited. His burial will take place on Tuesday August 30, 2005 at Mt. Prospect Cemetery, Amesbury, Ma. at 11 am.
