Berta M. (Botelho) Medeiros, age 65 of Taunton, passed away on January 23, 2017 at Morton Hospital.
She was the beloved wife of Joao Medeiros
Berta was born in St Miguel, Azores, a daughter of the late Joao and Maria do Carmo (Botelho) Raposo.
Before retirement Mrs. Medeiros was employed with Reed & Barton for over 27 years. Berta loved to make people laugh, she was devoted to her family and cherished every moment spent with them.
Besides her loving husband Joao of over 42 years she is survived by her children, Rui Medeiros, Sandra Ferreira both of Taunton and Claudia Kane of Easton. She was the sister of Joao Puga of Dracut, MA, Conceicao Terceira of St. Miguel, Rosa Cesar of Hudson, MA and Eduarda Calisto of Lowell, grandmother of Brianna, Sofia, Madison, Madelyn and Isabella. Mrs. Medeiros also leaves several nieces and nephews and 2 great-nephews, Julian and Ethan. Berta was also the sister of the late Jose Puga.
Berta’s funeral will be held on Saturday, January 28, 2017 at 8:30 am from The Silva Funeral Home 80 Broadway (at St. Mary’s Square) Taunton, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30am in Annunciation of the Lord Church, First St., Taunton.
Interment will follow in Saint Joseph Cemetery.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday, January 27th from 4 to 7 pm.
