Florence (Going) Palermo, 89, of Charlton, passed away peacefully after a short illness Tuesday, January 17th at the Overlook in Charlton. She is survived by her loving and caring husband of 57 years Rosario Palermo; their son Michael and his wife Pamela; and her two beautiful and adored grandchildren Joseph and Alyssa.
Florence was born in Townsend, the daughter of Chester and Annie (Spring) Going and moved to Leominster after she was married. While in Leominster, she worked at Union Products and Wachusett Potato Chip. She and her husband then moved to Charlton to be close to her beloved son, wonderful daughter in law and dearly loved grandchildren. She was always known to put a smile on people's faces and found joy in doing things for others. Her life revolved around her dear husband, as they were always inseparable, and her family. She was so proud of her son and her daughter in law. She also found a new meaning of life with her grandchildren. She always loved being with them and talking about them would make her glow. She enjoyed time spent with family and friends, a good game of bocci with the neighbors, fireworks, or a boat ride. She will always be known for her loving and caring ways. God has given her wings and she will be truly missed.

Calling hours for Florence will be Thursday, January 19th from 4:00 until 7:00 P.M. in O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue, Worcester. Her funeral will be held Friday, January 20th with a Mass at 10:00 A.M. in St. Joseph’s Church, 10 H. Putnam Road Extension. Please go directly to church. Burial will follow in West Ridge Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, we ask that a donation be made to Overlook Post-Acute Rehabilitation Unit, 88 Masonic Home Rd, Charlton, MA 01507 in Florence Palermo's name.
