LOWELL: Kenneth F. MacNeill, age 76, a resident of Lowell for the past 22 years, formerly of Waltham, passed away at the Merrimack Valley Hospice House in Haverhill following a brave battle with Pulmonary Fibrosis on Thursday, January 12, 2017.

He was the beloved husband of Nancy (Golini) MacNeill, with whom he celebrated their 29th wedding anniversary recently during their annual vacation to Aruba.

Born in Newton on April 29, 1940, he was the son of the late Avery and Mildred (Wescott) MacNeill.

Ken was raised in Waltham, and graduated from Waltham High School in 1958.

Following high school, Ken began his career in sales with the Sears & Roebuck Company in Waltham. He later joined the Sears sales team in Burlington, where he worked in the automotive department until his retirement in 1994.

Ken had a passion for the game of golf. His love for the game landed him the opportunity to work as a starter and ranger for the Indian Ridge Country Club in Andover and the Hillview Golf Club in Reading.

Besides his wife Nancy, he is survived by one sister, Nancy Reid and her husband Robert of Hudson; his mother-in-law, Joan Golini of Melrose; his brother-in-law, Stephen Golini and his wife Priscilla of Jacksonville, FL; his sister-in-law, Debbie Golini of Danvers; also many nieces, nephews and extended family members.

Ken was the brother of the late Donald MacNeill and John “Jack” MacNeill and the brother-in-law of the late Frank Golini.

Ken will be missed by many friends who will remember him for his gift of laughter. He loved a good time.

Calling hours are Monday, Jan. 16, from 4-8 p.m. at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 17, at 11 a.m. at Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, 185 Lake St., Peabody. There will not be a procession from the funeral home. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery entrance at 10:45 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Merrimack Valley Hospice House, 360 North Avenue, Haverhill, MA 01830.
