James Wesley "Jimmy Mac" McAllister, 59, of Ocilla passed away Friday, January 13, 2017, at his residence. His funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 16, 2017, at Liberty Baptist Church in Tifton with the Rev. Landon Alberson, the Rev. Kelly Anderson, the Rev. Steve Tucker and the Rev. Glenn Ford officiating. Mr. McAllister will be laid to rest at Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery in Tifton. The family will receive friends Sunday, January 15, 2017, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Mr. McAllister will be placed in the church one hour prior to the service.
Richard McAllister, Raul Cordero, Joe Kearce, Ronnie Hall, B. J. Gray and Ricky Dean will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Bard, Larry Tidwell, Jerome McCann and Candas Bennett.
Born June 30, 1957 in Hamilton, Ohio, Mr. McAllister was the son of Rosalie Hall McAllister of Tifton and the late Carl F. McAllister, Sr. He worked for Tidwell-Bishop Well and Pump Company for 28 years and Davis Well Company in Alabama for three years. He was a member of Liberty Baptist Church in Tifton.
In addition to his mother, Mr. McAllister is survived by his wife, Gloria Knotts McAllister of Ocilla; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Jerome and Kayla McCann of Ocilla and Chris McDaniel of Columbus; two daughters and sons-in-law, Jessica Rose and Raul Cordero and Candas and Kenny Bennett, all of Ocilla; two brothers, Carl F. "Pete" McAllister Jr. and Jerry W. McAllister, both of Tifton; two sisters, Patty McCord of Valdosta and Erma Mae McAllister of Tifton; and eight grandchildren, Sonya Cordero, R. J. Cordero, Miguel Cordero, Berny Cordero, Sharon McCann, Christian McDaniel, C. J. McDaniel and Blake McDaniel.
