TEWKSBURY - James Rosette, age 97, a former machinist for the Boston Navy Yard, died
unexpectedly on Tuesday morning, Aug. 23, at Saints Memorial Medical Center in Lowell,
following a brief illness. He was the husband of Marie F. (Watts) Rosette.
He was born in Wakefield, June 14, 1908, a son of the late Salvatore and Viola (Desiderio)
Rosati. He lived in East Boston and Quincy, before moving to Tewksbury thirty years ago.
Between WWI and WWII, he served in the U.S. Navy, and participated in the conflict in Panama.
He retired from the Boston Navy Yard, where he was employed as a machinist.
He was a parishioner of St. William’s Church in Tewksbury.
He is survived by ten children and their spouses; Donald and his wife Lorraine Rosette of
Woburn, David and his wife Constance Rosati of Medford, Charlotte Rosati of Billerica, James
and his wife Marie Rosati of Andover, Elizabeth Santos and her husband Sam, and Robert Rosati
all of New Mexico, Phyllis Boudreau of East Boston, Mimi Altenbach of Tewksbury, Netta
Vercollone and her husband Paul, and Leo Rosette all of Marshfield; eighteen grandchildren;
twenty two great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; one brother and sister-in-law,
Richard Rosati and his wife Mary of Wakefield; and many nieces and nephews.
He was also brother of the late Stanley, James, Tilly, and Guido Rosati.
His Funeral Mass was held Saturday, Aug. 27, in St. William’s Church, Tewksbury. Interment was in Couch Cemetery, Marshfield. Memorials to the Oblate Father’s Infirmary Fund, P.O. Box 419, Tewksbury, MA 01876 will be
