Obituary


STANDISH- Lloyd Norman MacDonald, age 80, passed away on Jan. 6, 2017 at Maine Medical Center in Portland.
He was born in Portland on Feb. 14, 1936, a son of the late Wilfred and Dorothy (Goulette) MacDonald.
After graduating from South Portland schools, Lloyd proudly served in the U.S. Army.
Lloyd went on to work at Oakhurst Dairy where he delivered milk and for Stevens Construction. He was best known for his work as a master tile installer and was employed by Installation Services, Gulians, Circle Floors, and most recently- Capozza Tile.
He enjoyed all forms of sports, especially golf, football, and bowling. He also enjoyed crafts such as rug hooking and crocheting, and doing puzzles. Above all, what brought him the most joy was spending time with his 7 great grandchildren. The selfless nature and devotion to his family stood out to everyone who knew him.
He is predeceased by his brothers- Leslie and David MacDonald.
Lloyd is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years- Jean Anne (Dow) MacDonald; children- Brenda Murphy and her husband Neal of FL, Pamela Boutin and her husband Daniel of Standish, and Scott MacDonald of Poland, ME; sister- Mary Burgess of VA; grandchildren- Mark, Sabrina, Daniel II, Natasha, Tyler, and Derek; and great grandchildren- Madisyn, MacKenzie, Kolby, Kacee, Noah, Gunnar, and Brynlee.
Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, Jan. 12, from 5-7 PM at the Chad E. Poitras Cremation and Funeral Service Chapel, 498 Long Plains Road (Rt.22), Buxton. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 11 AM. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Portland.
