NORTHBOROUGH-Gaetano T. Lopriore, 74, of 44 Hemlock Drive, formerly of Worcester, died Sunday, August 21st in Saint Vincent Hospital after a long battle with cancer. He leaves a son; Steven J. and his wife Darlene T. Lopriore of Oxford, 3 daughters; Jennine M. Lopriore of Webster, Tarese R. wife of Scott E. Menard of Dudley, Monique Nicole wife of Scott A. Josey of Worcester, his live in companion of 12 years, Elinor Potvin and her daughters, Jeanine Waittles and Linda Henry, his former wife of 25 years, Cindy-Ann Lopriore, 2 sisters; Christine wife of William DelleFemine and Vincenza wife of Richard Moore both of Sarasota, FL, a brother-in-law; Robert Nordwell of Northborough, 14 grandchildren, many nephews and nieces. 2 brothers, Sante Lapriore and Thomas and his wife Rita Lopriore and sister, Laura Nordwell predeceased him.
He was born in Worcester the son of Gennaro and Raffaela (Maiorano) Lopriore, graduated from Commerce High School in 1949 and moved to Oxford in 1983. Mr. Lopriore was employed as a dock worker for Red Star Express for 15 years, retiring in 1993. Previously he worked as a salesman for Manning’s Tobacco for several years and was the owner and operator of Asters Spa for 6 years. He was a member of the Teamsters Local 170, the Greendale Retired Men’s Club, where he golfed, a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus and was very active in the Northborough Senior Center. He built a log home in Oxford with his son where his son now resides. Mr. Lopriore was a very active man who loved dancing, music and working in the garden.
The funeral is Thursday, August 25th with a Mass at 9:30 AM in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 24 Mulberry Street. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen Street, Framingham, MA, 01701.
