Arthur G. “Jerry” Hooper Sr., 69, of Derry, NH, died Wednesday, May 29, 2002, at his home following a lengthy illness. He was born in Boston, Mass. on July 9, 1932, a son of the late Arthur P. and Irene M. (Waldon) Hooper. He was a resident of Derry for the past 15 years, having grown up in Winchester, Mass. He was US Army Veteran serving during the Korean Conflict. Jerry, as he was known, was employed as a postal worker for over 30 years with the US Post Office in Woburn, Mass. Jerry loved jazz music.
He is survived by his wife, Mary (DiNitto) Hooper of Derry, one son, Arthur G. Hooper Jr. of Woburn, Mass., one daughter, Lynann Hooper of Cle Elum, Wash., four grandchildren, and one sister, Ann McEachren of Burlington, Mass.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday June 1st from 9 - 11am in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. Funeral services will follow at 11:00am in the funeral home.
