Obituary


Ann Theresa (Cloherty) Fagan, of Wellesley, formerly of Newton and Watertown, died August 20, 2005 at the Lahey Clinic Medical Center in Burlington. She was 72. Mrs. Fagan was born in Watertown and was the daughter of the late Joseph and Bridget (Sullivan) Cloherty. She was a graduate of St. Elizabeth’s Hospital School of Nursing class of 1953 and worked as a Registered Nurse at the Babson College Health Center until her retirement. She lived in Wellesley for 40 years and was the Past Coordinator of St. Paul’s Parish Religious Education Program for many years.
She was the beloved wife of the William J. Fagan for 45 years.
She was the devoted mother of Maura A. Braslins and her husband Phillip of Australia, Ann T. Sarpu and her husband of South Windsor, CT, Eileen M. Gustin and her husband Kenneth of Needham, Michael J. Fagan of New York City, and Kathleen Fagan of Wellesley. Loving grandmother of Bridget, Brendan, Kevin, and Kathleen Sarpu, and Joseph, Michael, and Julia Gustin. Sister of Joseph Cloherty of Waltham, Mary Sheehan of Wellesley, Margaret Cloherty of Watertown, Barbara Chagnon of Falmouth, and the late John Cloherty of Waltham. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Funeral from the George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home, 477 Washington St., (Rt.16) Wellesley, on Thursday at 9:00 AM. Funeral mass in St. Paul’s Church, Wellesley, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Visiting hours on Tuesday from 7-9 PM and Wednesday from 4-8 PM. Interment in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Needham. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Ann’s memory to Catholic Charities 49 Franklin St., Boston, 02110.
