Dolores Lucy (Ramirez) Morin MSN, RN, 54, of Medway, MA and formerly of Roslindale, MA gained her wings on December 31st, after a courageous battle against cancer while surrounded by loved ones. Dolores was born on 11/26/1962 to Angela C. (Soler) Ramirez and the late Manuel Ramirez of Boston, MA both formerly of Santiago, Cuba. Dolores was a loving mother to Matthew and his partner Jaymie of Medway, Lisa and her partner John of Clinton, Ashley and her partner Matt of Bellingham and a devoted Abuelita to Abigail, Jayden, Emma, Kyle and Dylan. Dolores is also survived by her ex-husband Rick Morin of Medway, her mother Angela Ramirez of Roslindale, her sister’s Rosa Wells and Angela Boring, along with many nieces and nephews. Dolores also leaves behind many very close friends, beloved family and cousins in the Greater Boston area, Florida and Texas.
Dolores was a dedicated Registered Nurse that had an incredible passion for educating her nursing students at Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences and Bunker Hill Community College. Dolores began her nursing career in 1987 as a Licensed Practical Nurse before obtaining her Bachelors of Science in Nursing from Boston College in 1996. Dolores most recently acquired her Masters of Science in Nursing Education from Western Governors University in 2013 which was an incredible long time accomplishment for her.
Dolores enjoyed spending time in the Cape with family and friends, her late partner Philip Rigneyand their Jack Russells.Dolores had an artistic soul that was expressed through music, painting and dancing.Dolores spent her free time expressing her love of playing instruments such as the guitar, piano, electric guitar, violin, and the ukulele. Dolores carried a remarkable spirit that lit up a room through her compassion and sense of humor.
Dolores' arrangements will take place on Friday, January 6th at 11:00am at the Robert J. Lawler & Crosby Funeral Home located at 1803 Centre St West Roxbury, MA 02132 followed by a cremation burial at Saint Joseph's Cemetery located in West Roxbury. Immediately after the burial, a celebration of life ceremony will take place from 1pm-5pm at the American Legion Dedham Post located at 155 Eastern Ave, Dedham MA 02026 - All family & friends are welcome to attend.
In lieu of Flowers, Dolores requests that donations be made to in memory of her to Dana Farber Cancer Institute or the Stanley Tippett House, Needham MA.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to Dolores’ nephew, Mike Wells, for going above and beyond in making sure Dolores was well cared for.
They would also like to extend their gratitude to extended family and friends for coordinating in meticulous detail for her healthcare and needs.
