Obituary

Dartmouth – Wilfred C. Fortin, 78, of Dartmouth, formerly of Acushnet, died unexpectedly at home on August 19, 2005.

Mr. Fortin was born in Acushnet, son of the late Wilfred A. and Margaret e. (Hartley) Fortin, and resided all but the last four months of his life in Acushnet. He was a member of the Acushnet-Wesley United Methodist Church, Acushnet. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was employed by the Town of Acushnet as the Town Accountant for 30 years until his retirement in 1992. He was a member of the George H. Taber Lodge, A.F.A.M., Fairhaven, the Sutton Commandry, New Bedford, the volunteer fire department of Acushnet, and the Acushnet Firefighters’ Association. He enjoyed reading, hunting and traveling.

Survivors include 4 cousins.

Funeral service on Tuesday, August 23, 2005 at 10:00 A.M. at the Kirby Funeral Home, 61 Tarkiln Hill Road, New Bedford

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Acushnet Firefighters’ Assoc., 24 Russell St., Acushnet, MA 02743.

Interment in Rochester Center Cemetery, Rochester.
