LOWELL—Frances T. (Starr) Brown, 78 years old, a lifelong resident of Lowell, died early Thursday morning, August 18th, at Saints Memorial Medical Center, after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late George H. Brown, who died in 1999.
She was born in Wilmington, on April 5, 1927, a daughter of the late Arthur and Mary (McDonald) Starr, and was a graduate of Wilmington Public Schools.
She was a communicant of St. Margaret’s Church and an active member of the Ladies Sodality of that parish.
Surviving her are two sons and daughters-in-law: Gerald A. and Gail Brown, of Dunstable; and Thomas G. and Francine Brown, of Saunderstown, RI; three daughters and sons-in-law: Elizabeth Ann and Mark Quigley, of Plaistow, NH; Holly P. and George Aprahamian, of Pepperell; and Cynthia A. and Scott Sullivan, of Lowell; a brother and sister-in-law: James, and Joan Starr, of Tewksbury; eleven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
She was the mother of the late Kathleen Marie Brown and sister of the late John Starr, Arthur ‘Buddy’ Starr, and Mary Nicholson.
Friends may call from 4 until 8 PM Sunday, August 21st, at the MAHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 187 Nesmith Street, (Rte.38). Her Funeral Mass to be offered Monday, August 22nd, at 10 AM at ST.
