Grace (Volmer) Moriarty of Medford died on Tuesday, December 20, at the Massachusetts General Hospital of Boston. Born and raised in Dedham, she was the daughter of the late John and Ellen (Collins) Volmer. Grace settled in Medford in 1952.
She was the beloved wife of the late Edward M. Moriarty, and the devoted mother of Atty. Edward M. Moriarty Jr. and his wife Joanne Scott of Salem, and Mary Thrasher of Medford. Grace was the loving grandmother of Marina Sousa and her husband Andy, Estella and Evan Moriarty, Charlie Thrasher, Julie Thrasher and her husband Jeff Smead, and the loving great grandmother of Samantha. She was the sister of the late Doris Donahue, Claire Volmer, Eleanor Flaherty, and Jack Volmer, and is survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford on Saturday, December 24 at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Raphael Church, 512 High St., Medford, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford. Visiting hours Friday, December 23, from 4 through 8 PM.
