Erin Flannery Pizzo, age 44 of Kingston, MA, passed away peacefully on December 18, 2016. Erin was born on August 5, 1972, in Albany, NY, to Kyran “Ky” Flannery and Judith (White) Flannery. She grew up in Albany where she lived with her parents and 2 sisters, Susan (Huffman) and Kristin (Barnes). She was a 1994 graduate of the College of Holy Cross and also studied abroad at Oxford University her junior year. After college Erin moved to Boston, MA where she met her husband, Mike, in 1995. Erin and Mike were married in Saratoga, NY on April 24, 1998 and settled in the beautiful town of Kingston, MA in 2001 where they have proudly lived and raised their two children, Aidan 14 and Kyra 11. Erin was a published author and blogger, health and wellness coach and public speaker. She often said that everything can be seen as an opportunity or an obstacle and we have the power to choose. She chose to look at a serious health condition not with dread but as a great gift of awakening. As a result Erin inspired and touched the lives of so many people through her beautiful writing and gentle words of encouragement and guidance to anyone who needed it. Erin loved the serenity of the ocean and was passionate about getting out in nature with her family and their 2 lovable pups, Ginger and Joy. Her favorite walking place was the beautiful Bay Farm in Duxbury, MA where she will forever be remembered as a beacon of hope and light. Erin was also an avid reader and voracious researcher. She is preceded in death by her father, Kyran, and survived by her husband of 18 years, Michael Pizzo, their 2 children, Aidan and Kyra, her mother Judith, sisters Susan (Flannery) Huffman and Kristin (Flannery) Barnes and their husbands Minor and Michael, and 9 nieces and nephews.
