Malcolm “Mac” MacLeod III, age 79 of Brockton and Ft. Myers, Florida, died on Monday December 12, 2016 at Baypointe Rehabilitation and Skilled Care Center after a brief illness. Mac was the loving husband of Sylvia J. (Kenney) MacLeod for 57 years. He was born in Avon and moved with his family to Brockton in his teen years. He was the son of the late Hazel (Marston) and Malcolm MacLeod, Jr.
Mac was a 1956 graduate of Brockton High School and later earned his Bachelor’s Degree from Bridgewater State College. For 35 years he worked for Procter & Gamble in Quincy and retired in 1997.
Mac enjoyed spending his winters in Ft. Myers and summers at his home in East Falmouth. He enjoyed golf, and senior league softball. He was a Jack of all trades and over the years built four homes for his family. Mac will be remembered as a hardworking man who always put his family first. He loved spending time with his family, most especially his four granddaughters.
In addition to his wife Sylvia, he is survived by his three daughters, Nancy MacLeod of Franklin, Jeanne MacLeod and her partner Kathryn Stanley of Bridgewater and Michelle Locke and her husband Galen of Middleboro, and four granddaughters Sarah, Hannah, Kaylee and Jillian. He was the brother of Jean Latham of NH, Robert MacLeod of Bridgewater and the late Mary Brewster, Richard Goodell, Lorraine MacLeod and Russell MacLeod. He also leaves many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte. 123) Brockton, on Sunday, 2-6pm. Donations in Mac’s name may be made to Dana Farber Cancer Institute, 10 Brookline Place West, 6th Floor, Brookline, MA 02445.
