
Dorothy M. Peterson, of Taunton MA, died on Monday December 12th at Golden Living Center-Wedgemere in Taunton after a long illness.
Born April 23, 1931 in Weymouth MA, she was the daughter to George T. Parnaby and Margaret M. (Barnes) (Parnaby) Tuthill and sister to the late Phyllis E. Yates (Moulton) of Arizona.
She retired from Old Colony Hospice where she worked as a home health aide. She also worked as a nurse’s aide at the Quincy Adams Nursing Home in Brockton.
She attended All Saint’s Episcopal Church of Whitman and served as Sexton for 10 years, as well as, the Altar Guild for a few years.
She was the Committee Chairperson for the Boy Scout Troop 1046 of Brockton in the 70’s.
She was a Warrant Officer in the Sea Cadet Corps, Squadron 7 Zulu, of the South Weymouth Naval Air Station in the 80’s.
Her hobbies included sewing, ceramics, gardening, cooking, baking, going to the beach and camping.
She is survived by her children: Bernard Pace and his wife Marcia and family of Abington, Wayne Pace and his wife Gail and family of Taunton, Corinne Maloney and her husband Dennis and family of Taunton, Bill Peterson and his wife Arlene and family of Lemoore, California, Michelle Barboza-Campbell and her husband Wes and family of Del City, Oklahoma, John Peterson of Taunton, Brittany Peterson of Plymouth. She leaves 18 grandchildren, many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She was the Mother of the late Charles E. Pace, survived by his wife Mildred Pace and family of Whitman. She was the Mother in Law of the late Larry Blasingame, survived by her daughter Dawn Blasingame and family of Dallas, Texas.
Family and friends are invited to attend her visitation on Saturday December 17 from 3:00-5:00 PM, in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 @ the rotary) Whitman. Burial will be at a later date.
