Obituary

Belmont-------Lillyanna Marie Flynn, 12, of Tioga drive, was granted her angel wings on Thursday, December 8, 2016 due to complications with her health. Lilly’s final days were spent surrounded by the friends and family that meant so much to her throughout her exceptional life.

Born on June 25, 2004 in Lebanon, New Hampshire Lillyanna greeted this world with a radiance that would be apparent to each person she met throughout the entirety of her life. Though she faced many medical challenges her bravery and determination in the face of adversity were beyond remarkable. Her courage inspired all those around her to live fully and create wonderful memories each and every day.

Her glittering eyes and gentle smile were a gateway to an incredibly caring yet slightly mischievous spirit. Her passions ran deep and she immersed herself into the things that she loved. To many that knew her, she was “Queen Lilly” and there was always a small army of her adoring yellow minions present where ever she would go. She would spend hours coloring, working on crafts and plotting her next greatest prank on her unsuspecting family members and healthcare givers. She cared for her cousins deeply and the joy their visits brought to her was immeasurable.

With Lillyanna’s passing, we remind all that her life is one to be celebrated for she brought joy and laughs to so many. Although we will miss her she will be a light in our hearts and an angelic voice in our dreams forever.

Lillyanna leaves behind many wonderful friends and caregivers that provided love and support throughout her life. We extend our love and gratitude to family friends Courtney, Danny and Danika Carignan and to Katie Mitchell, Lilly’s friend, caretaker and protector. Also to her favorite nurse, Christine Pratt and the doctors and staff at Boston Children’s that provided exceptional dedication and compassion. She will be deeply missed by an enormous local community with names too numerous to mention but all provided her with love and dignity in her life and also in her passing.

Lillyanna is survived by her loving mother, Sarah Flynn and her significant other, Kevin Washburn, her Father Dan Peterson of Belmont; sisters, Lindsey and Leah; maternal grandparents, David and Lisa Flynn of Belmont; paternal grandparents, Skip and Lynn Peterson of Belmont; aunts and uncles Ed and Megan Flynn of Burlington, MA, Tom and Samantha Katsigiannis of Franklin, Justin and Olivia Flynn of Belmont, Mikey Peterson of Belmont; cousins, Sophia Flynn, Dionysios “Bee-Do” Katsigiannis, Haleigh and Hunter Flynn.
