Jane Black McPherson, 76, of Tifton passed away Thursday, December 8, 2016, at her residence. Her funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, December 11, 2016, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with Dr. Wayne Roe officiating. Mrs. McPherson will be laid to rest at Oak Ridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday, December 11, 2016, from 3:00 p.m. until the hour of the service at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Mrs. McPherson’s grandsons, Reed McPherson, Connor McPherson, Zach McPherson, as well as, Gavin Hamby, Mike Holloway, Tim McPherson and Ronald McPherson will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Merle Bowen Sunday School class at Tifton’s First Baptist Church.
Born April 15, 1940 in Americus, Mrs. McPherson was the daughter of the late Luther Lucius Black and Annie Everett Black. She was also preceded in death by one brother, Jim Black. She was retired as a bookkeeper for McPherson Systems and a member of Tifton’s First Baptist Church, where she was active in the Merle Bowen Sunday School Class.
Mrs. McPherson is survived by her husband, Donald McPherson of Tifton; two sons and daughters-in-law, Tony and Jane McPherson and Dan and Fran McPherson, all of Tifton; and four grandchildren, Reed McPherson. Connor McPherson, Zach McPherson and Aubree McPherson.
