Joseph A. Marando, 79

Dateline: Foxborough, MA

Joseph A. Marando, age 79, of Foxborough passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, December 8, 2016. He was the beloved husband of Loretta (Antonellis) Marando. Mr. and Mrs. Marando had recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.

Born in Boston, MA on June 25, 1937, he was a loving son of the late Michael Angelo and Grace (Panetta) Marando.

Joe grew up in Boston and was a graduate of Roxbury Memorial High School. He later proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army, during the time of the Vietnam War, and was discharged on November 30, 1965 with the rank of SP4.

Mr. Marando had made his home in Foxborough for the past forty-four years. He was retired a Typesetter and Graphic Artist, recently retiring in July.

Joseph was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Foxborough. He loved the simple pleasure of spending time at home with his loving wife, children and grandchildren. He was also an avid reader and enjoyed watching and cheering on the New England Patriots.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his devoted children Joseph M. Marando and his wife Kathryn of Norton, Lisa M. Brennan and her husband Mark of Foxborough, and Angela M. Walsh and her husband Robert of Chelmsford. He was the dear brother of Albert Marando of Roslindale, Carmella Moshiek of Florida, Anthony Marando of Carver, Angelina Esposito of West Roxbury, and John Marando and his wife Kay of Braintree. He was the adoring grandfather of Jenna and Justin Marando, Shayna and Keenan Brennan, and Emma and Owen Walsh. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.

His funeral, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will begin on Tuesday, December 13th at 8:00 A.M. from the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main St., Mansfield, followed by a Mass of Christian burial celebrated at 9:00 A.M. in St. Mary’s Church, 58 Carpenter St. Foxborough. Burial with military honors will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Foxborough.

Visiting hours will be held on Monday, December 12th from 5:00-8:00 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, Joseph’s family would prefer that donations in his memory be made to the New England Center for Homeless Veterans, 17 Court St., Boston, MA 02108.
