TEWKSBURY - Mrs.Miriam (Moakley) M. McGinley, 83, passed away Wednesday December 7th at Lowell General Hospital.
A loving wife, mother, grandmother, Miriam was born on January 22, 1933 in Lexington, Massachusetts a daughter to the late Robert and Mary (Peake) Moakley. Loving wife of forty-nine years to the late Charles D. McGinley whom she lost in 2003.
Miriam spent her early years in the town of Lexington later moving to Billerica where she graduated from Howe High School. She married her husband Charles in 1953 helping to raise their six children and later sharing time with her fifteen grandchildren.
She worked for many years as an administrator at the Lincoln Labs in Lexington. Miriam was an active and devoted parishioner at St William’s Church in Tewksbury participating in many church events and organizations.
She is survived by her two sons, Thomas J. McGinley, Charles D. McGinley Jr.; four daughters, Margaret “Peggy” Speranza and her husband Dana, Mary E. Collaro, Ann M. Kolek and her husband Brian, Barbara McGinley; she leaves three brothers, Robert Moakley and his wife Rita, James Moakley and Frederick Moakley; a sister, Mary Jane Morgan and her husband Donald; and fifteen grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Miriam was pre-deceased by her son in law, James J. Collaro.
MCGINLEY - Visiting hours are Monday, December 12th , 4:00pm to 8:00pm in the Tewksbury Funeral Home, corner of 1 Dewey St and 975 Main St (Rt38) TEWKSBURY CENTER, phone(800 in MA or 978) 851-2950. Her Funeral will begin Tuesday, December 13th at 9:00am from the funeral home, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10am in St William Church 1351 Main St. Tewkbury.
