Joseph T. Carroll, age 86, of Port St. Lucie, FL formerly of Woburn passed away August 16th following a lengthy illness. He was the beloved husband of the late Frances Carroll. Born in Belmont he was the son of the late Marjorie (Blair) and Roland T. Carroll.
Mr. Carroll was a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII serving from 1942 to 1945 and was the recipient of four bronze stars. He was a member of American Legion Posts here in Woburn and in Jensen Beach, FL. Mr. Carroll was also active for fifteen years as a cub scout leader in Somerville.
Mr. Carroll has been a resident of Port St. Lucie for the past five years. Prior to his retirement he was the owner/ operator of Carroll & Sons Citgo Service Station located at Woburn four corners. It has been requested that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Joseph´s memory to the Hospice Foundation, 1201 SE Indina St., Stuart, FL 34997.
Mr. Carroll is survived by his children, Joseph Carroll of Rio, FL, Robert Carroll of Woburn, and Janet McLaughlin of Port St. Lucie, FL. He is also survived by his loving grandchildren, Kristen Walsh, Daniel Butler, Kaileen Butler and Shayleigh McLaughlin.
Funeral from the McLaughlin - Dello Russo Funeral Home 60 Pleasant St. Woburn, Saturday at 9 AM. Followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Barbara Church 130 Cambridge Rd. Woburn, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Friday 6 thru 9. Services will conclude with burial at Cambridge Cemetery, Cambridge.
