Lydia (Flores) Perez, age 79, a lifelong resident of Taunton, passed away on December 1, 2016 at Longmeadow of Taunton.
Born in Orocovis, Puerto Rico, she was a daughter of the late Angel and Perfecta (Gonzalez) Flores.
Before retirement, Mrs. Perez was employed with Eureka Manufacturing, a division of Reed & Barton for over 25 years. She was a communicant of Saint Mary’s Church in Taunton where she was a Eucharistic Minister. Lydia was a devout catholic who was a recipient of the Marian Metal. Most of all she was a loving and caring person who was devoted to her family.
Mrs. Perez was the loving mother of Erasmo L. Perez and his wife Michelle of St. Robert, MO and Daisy J. Cruz and her husband Ruben of Taunton, grandmother of Veronika, Ruben “RJ”, and Nadia, great-grandmother of Derek. She was the sister of Pedro Flores of RI, Emiliano Gonzalez of Taunton, Rosa Maria Vazquez of Springfield, MA, Milta Valentin of RI and Julia Rivera of Brockton, sister of the late Angel and Antonio Flores.
Lydia’s funeral will be held on Monday, December 5, 2016 at 9 am from the Silva Funeral Home 80 Broadway, Taunton, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in Saint Mary’s Church Broadway, Taunton.
Interment will follow in Saint Joseph Cemetery.
Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, December 4th from 4 to 7 pm.
