Benjamin N. Brower, age 70, of Brockton died Tuesday, August 16, 2005, at his home.
He was the son of the late Neil and Margaret (McReynolds) Brower. He was born, raised and educated in St. Louis Missouri, and moved to Brockton 36 years ago.
Before moving to the Boston area Mr. Brower worked for Union Electric Co. in St. Louis. In 1968 he moved to Somerville, MA and became a member of the Boston Laborers union working in the Construction trades from 1968-1980. In 1980 he started working for Jack Conway Realty as a Broker and then Sales Manager he retired 5 years ago.
He was a Director for the Board of Realtors in Massachusetts and became President in 1991 and stayed on for several years as a past president status. He was involved for 25 years in the Boy Scouts where he was Scout Master of the former troop 4 and also received the George Meaney Award for his valuable service to Scouting. He Served in the Navy during the Korean Conflict.
He is survived by his wife Ann (Kurey) Brower;Three Daughters,Linda McCann of Wareham, Karen Chase of Taunton, and Susan E. LaFratta of North Attleboro.Three Sons,James N. of West Bridgewater, Gary S. Brower of Florida, and Kevin J. Brower of East Bridgewater.
He was the brother of the late Dorothy Beck and June Smith.Also survived by 9 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Visiting Hours will be 4:00 to 8:00 PM Friday, with an evening Prayer Service at 7:30 PM.
