Obituary

WORCESTER___Charles F. “Charlie” Purcell, 79, of 11 Sever St, died Monday, August 15, 2005 in University Commons after a brief illness. His wife of 18 years, Juanita E. (Sniffen) Purcell died in 1998.

He leaves his step-children, Brian K. Brunelle and his wife Teresa and John P. Brunelle all of Worcester, his extended family, Kevin N. White and his children, Jacob Charles White and Joshua White all of Worcester and a special friend, Nancy Hill of Marlborough.

Charlie was a US Army veteran of WWII serving in the South Pacific.

Mr. Purcell was a printer for the former Shawmut Bank and worked many years before retiring. He was then a counselor and house manager at Crozier House where he was able to help many people. He worked there up until the time of his death. Charlie was a 29 year member of Alcoholic’s Anonymous. He enjoyed all sports, especially the New England Patriots and Boston Red Sox.

The funeral service will be held on Thursday August 18 at 11:30 am in DIRSA-MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 298 Grafton St. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours in the funeral home are Wednesday August 17 from 5 to 8 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Crozier House, 10 Hammond St, Worcester, MA 01610.
