Obituary

Brenda Massee, 56, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Saturday, November 26, 2016 at Tift Regional Medical Center in Tifton.

Funeral services will be held at 2 PM, Tuesday, November 29, 2016, at Central United Methodist Church in Fitzgerald with the Rev. B.J. Funk and the Rev. Dr. Lloyd Stembridge officiating. Her sons, Brian & Jeremy, will deliver eulogies. Interment will be private. The family will greet friends following the service.

Brenda was born February 6, 1960, in Ben Hill County, Georgia to the late Jack Dorminy & Annette Smith Massee. She was a 1978 graduate of Fitzgerald High School where she sang in the Chorus. She later attended Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College. She was a paraprofessional and served as director of the Central United Methodist Church Pre-School for 10 years. Brenda was a financial services office administrator for almost 20 years working with Tim Anderson and Whit Story at Edward Jones Investments, Colony Financial Services, and Colony Wealth Management. She was active in the band boosters while her sons were in high school. She enjoyed working in her yard and spending time with her grandchildren. She loved to travel and had a special affinity for the beaches on the Atlantic coast of Georgia and Florida. She was a member of Central United Methodist Church where she formerly sang in the choir.

She is survived by her husband of 5 years, Byron Linthicum of Fitzgerald; her two sons: Brian & Rita Nicholson of Irwin County and Jeremy & Karli Nicholson of Savannah and their father, Randall Nicholson of Fitzgerald; four grandsons: Jack Nicholson, Landon Nicholson, B.J. “Beesh” Nicholson, and Owen Nicholson; bonus children: B.J. & Tracy Linthicum and their daughter Emerie, all of Colorado, Christy Linthicum of Columbia, South Carolina, and Janice Linthicum of Barcelona, Spain; two sisters: Bonnie & Tommy Wiggins and Becky & Robert Griffin, all of Fitzgerald; a sister-in-law, Ruth Linthicum Schenkenberger of Foley, Alabama; as well as several nieces and nephews including Jason & Brittany Wiggins, April Wiggins, Wesley & Amanda Griffin, and Eric & Becky Griffin. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant brother.
