She also leaves eight great grandchildren
Funeral Mass in St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Bridgewater, Friday at 9am. Burial in Coweeset Cemetery. Visiting Hours in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton, Thursday 5-8pm. Helen T. (MaDan) Conefrey died unexpectedly Sunday at the Caritas Good Samaritan Medical Center. Born in Canaan Maine, she was the daughter of the late Henry W. and Helen K. (Burns) MaDan. Raised in Brockton, she graduated from Brockton High School, class of 1937. Mrs. Conefrey enjoyed attending her class reunions and had attended all of them up to her 65th reunion. For many years she had been employed by various shoe manufacturing companies in Brockton as a heel builder. She had also been employed by the Foxboro Company as an electronics technician and retired from the company as a shuttle bus driver. Following her retirement from the Foxboro Company she drove a school bus for handicapped children in the West Bridgewater School system until she was 76 years old.
She was a lifetime member of the Bridgewater Academy Lions, the Bridgewater Senior Center, a member of the Tumbleweeds Motorcycle Club affiliated with Montey’s Cycle Shop. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting and time spent with her grandchildren and attending their sporting events.
She is survived by one son Robert T. Conefrey, Jr. of South Easton, two daughters Joyce A. Nelson of West Bridgewater and Helen K. “Tootie” Whiting and her husband Warren of Bridgewater, six grandchildren Kimberly, “TJ”, Darrell, Chad, Bobby III and Ricky, eight great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was the wife of the late Robert T. Conefrey and sister of the late Eugene, Weston, Alton, Henry, Melvin, Arthur and Robert MaDan.
