Obituary

Sylvia F. (Wojcik) Morytko, age 80, passed away on Nov 12, 2016 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Chicopee on Nov 26, 1935 to the late Stanley M. and Anna F. (Przybyla) Wojcik. Sylvia was a secretary for several years at the former A.G. Spalding in Chicopee before staying home to raise her five beloved children. Her family was the center of her world. Sylvia was a member of St Stanislaus Basilica where she sang in the choir. She was also very active in the church community volunteering her time for their bazaars, bingo and pierogi making. Sylvia was a long term member of Polish Woman’s Alliance where she served several terms as State President and then District President. She enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing and watching old movies. She also loved to travel and take cruises. Sylvia leaves her loving husband of 56 years, John A. Morytko, Jr. of West Springfield; two sons, Dr. John Morytko of Miami, FL and Michael Morytko of Framingham, MA, three daughters, Marianne Gallant and her husband Glenn of Haverhill. MA; Alyce Vincelette and her fiancé Ed Taddey of West Springfield; and Andrea Keedy and her husband Sanford of Amherst, MA. She also leaves one sister, Evelyn Byrd of Niceville, FL; three grandchildren, Alex and Joe Gallant and Chris Vincelette, and one great grandchild, Joel Vincelette. Sylvia was predeceased by two brothers, Stanley and Michael Wojcik and one granddaughter, Sara Vincelette. A Funeral Service will be held on Weds, Nov 16, 2016, 9 AM at Grise Funeral Home, 280 Springfield Street, Chicopee, MA with a 10:00 AM Funeral Mass at St. Stanislaus Basilica. Burial will follow at St. Thomas Cemetery in West Springfield. Calling Hours will be held on Tues, Nov 15th, 2016 from 4 to 7 PM at the funeral home.
