MacPherson, Francis Xavier (“Scotty”) (B.P.D. Ret.) of Hyde Park, November 11. Passed peacefully in his own house of over 60 years with his daughter present. Born to Duncan MacPherson and Annie Mae (MacEachern) of Nova Scotia. Loving father of Phyllis (South Weymouth), Robert and his partner Rodney Plasse (South Weymouth), Lawrence and his wife Marie (Houston, TX); Francis and his wife Sandra (Westwood); Scott (Pembroke) and John (deceased). Proud grandfather of Ian, Ross, Daniel and Mark. Brother of Mary (Mabel) Reed and her husband Raymond (deceased)(Dedham) and John Bernard (Barney) (deceased).
Francis will be fondly remembered by family and friends as a loving father, devotedly religious, hardworking, honorable, patriotic, and generous with his time and his knowledge. We will also remember that he loved to bowl, read history books, watch his sports teams including boxing matches, visits to the casino and working endlessly pulling weeds from his lawn while smoking a cigar.
Born May 24, 1926 in Jamaica Plain. Educated at St Thomas and then English High School. Veteran US Army from 1944 to 1946. Upon returning from his service, he was married to Lorraine until her passing in 1999 (48 years). He worked almost 35 years as a Boston Police Officer in the South End of Boston. After retirement from that he worked another 15 years driving the president of New England Life around his city and other New England destinations.

Funeral from the George F. Doherty and Sons Funeral Home, 456 High St., DEDHAM, Tuesday at 10 a.m. followed by a funeral mass in St. Mary's Church, Dedham, at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Visiting hours Monday 5 to 8 p.m. Interment Forest Hills Cemetery, Boston.
