Curtis of Brockton August 14, 2005, John W. “Doughboy” Curtis 64 years. Loving and devoted husband of Ann M. (Burbank) Curtis. Beloved father of Richard and Tina Curtis both of Brockton; Tammy Curtis-Fitting of Holbrook and Michelle LaBlue of Brockton.
Visiting hours in the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont St. (Rte 123) Brockton Wednesday 2-6 pm with a Service of Remembrance at 5:30 pm. In lieu of flowers donations in John’s name may be made to the Patients’ Activity Fund @ Embassy House Rehabilitation Center 2 Beaumont Ave., Brockton, MA 02302.


Obituary

John W. Curtis 64 years of Brockton died Sunday at the Embassy House Rehabilitation Center, Brockton after a lengthy illness. He was the husband of Ann M. (Burbank) Curtis. Mr. Curtis was born in Needham, raised and educated in Dedham a son of the late Richard and Eleanor (Knowles) Curtis. He was the step son of Kay Curtis of Florida.
In the early 1960s he served in the US Army National Guard.
For many years Mr. Curtis lived in Minnesota and for the past 30 years has lived in Brockton and Holbrook.
He had managed several service stations and also enjoyed breeding and training German shepherd dogs. He enjoyed card games especially cribbage, fishing and trips to casinos.
In addition to his wife and stepmother he is survived by 4 children Richard and Tina Curtis both of Brockton; Tammy Curtis-Fitting of Holbrook and Michelle LaBlue of Brockton and 5 children in Minnesota Anne Marie Beatty, Tami Techita, Terri Curtis and twins Shawn and Shannon Curtis. He also leaves many grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
Mr. Curtis was one of 18 children
