Obituary

Edward N. Brennan, age 80, a Medford resident for over seventy-five years, passed away August 13th at his home in Medford. He was the beloved husband for 52 years of Hildegarde F.(McHugh). Born in Hammond, IN, he was the son of the late Edward J. and Blanche (Hubler) Brennan.

Mr. Brennan was a standout athlete in Baseball, Hockey and Football at Medford High School. His high school hockey team won the state championships both his junior and senior years.At the age of seventeen following his graduation, Mr. Brennan joined the United States Marine Corp. where he attained the rank of Corporal. He saw action in the Pacific Theater of WWII in campaigns on Bougainville, Guam and Iwo Jima. After being wounded on Iwo Jima where he received the Bronze Star for valor and the Purple Heart he was honorably discharged in March of 1946. Mr. Brennan worked for 25 years as a postal worker and enjoyed the many friendships he made with customers and co-workers. He also enjoyed the relationships and activities of his eleven children, their spouses and his thirty-six grandchildren and one great grandchild. In addition to his late parents, Mr. Brennan is preceded in death by his brother Robert Brennan and his sister Mildred Grossman. He is survived by his beloved wife Hildegarde F. (McHugh) Brennan, their children, LTC US Army (Ret) Edward Brennan and wife Alix of Leavenworth, KS, Michael Brennan and wife Joanne of Fitchburg, Gary Brennan and wife Lauria of Braintree, Terence Brennan and wife Sheryl of Winchester, Stephen Brennan and wife Mary of Medford, Robert Brennan and wife Maureen of Enfield, CT, Doreen Grimm and husband Maj. US Army (Ret) Russell of Hampton, VA, Erin Krasco and husband Peter, Kelly Krasco and husband Tom, Robin Brennan, Jeanne Cronin and husband Gary all of Medford. He is also survived by thirty-six grandchildren and one great grandchild. He is further survived by his brother Jerry Brennan and his sister Betty Hartigan.

Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home 306 Main St. Medford, Tuesday at 9 AM. Followed by funeral mass celebrated in St. Raphael Church 512 High St. Medford, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Monday 3 thru 8. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
