Lois I. (Day) Bruno, 81, of Derry, NH died Friday August 12, 2005 in the Salemhaven Nursing Home in Salem, NH. Mrs. Bruno was born in Danville, NH on September 1, 1923, a daughter of the late Theodore and Mary A. (West) Day. She had resided in Derry for nearly 60 years, formerly living in Danville. She served as past president for both the VFW Post 1617 Ladies Auxilliary and the F.O.E. Post 663 Ladies Auxilliary both of Derry. She was a former member of the Pythian Sisters in Derry and was a member of St. Luke’s United Methodist Church in Derry.
She is survived by three sons, Louis Bruno and his wife Rosemary of Londonderry, NH, Tony Bruno and his wife Shirley of Derry, Roland Bruno and his wife Linda of Derry, eight grandchildren, several great grandchildren, her brother, Charles Day of Brentwood, NH, her daughter-in-law, Marjorie Bruno (wife of the late Norman C. Bruno who died in 1985) of Florida, also several nieces and nephews. In addition to her son, she was also predeceased by her husband, Louis H. Bruno who died in 1999.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday August 16th at 10:00am in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. Burial followed in Forest Hill Cemetery, E. Derry. Friends called on Monday from 4 - 8pm in the funeral home. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to a local hospice organization of your choice.
