Anita A. Pendergast, 88

Dateline: Norton, MA

Anita A. (Richmond) Pendergast, age 88, a lifelong resident of Norton, passed away, surrounded by her loving family, on Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at Wingate at Norton. She was the beloved wife of the late Roland A. Pendergast.

Born in Norton, MA on October 17, 1928, she was a loving daughter of the late James Sr. and Blanche (Foster) Richmond.

Anita was a dedicated homemaker to her adoring family and before retiring had worked as a racker at the former General Metals Finishing Co. in Attleboro.

Anita was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Norton and enjoyed spending time with her family, crocheting, sewing, and had a special place in her heart for animals.

She is survived by her loving and devoted children Paul B. Pendergast of Norton and Debra J. Huyler and her husband John of North Attleboro. She was the dear sister of the late Lucy, Irene, Gloria, Georgette, Jeannette and James, Jr., and is also survived by her cherished granddaughters Ciara “CJ” Kindberg and Katelyn J. Reynolds, many nieces and nephews and her best friend “Niki”

Services and burial will be held privately at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.

Visiting hours have been omitted and those wishing may remember Anita with a donation in her memory made to the Sunshine Fund at Wingate at Norton, 184 Mansfield Ave., Norton, MA 02766.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of the Norton Memorial Funeral Home, 19 Clapp St., Norton.
