TAUNTON – Dionisio Medeiros, age 76, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on October 24, 2016.
He was the beloved husband of Maria (Fonseca) Medeiros.
Born in St. Miguel, Acores, he was the son of Teofilo and Irene (Raposa-Cabral) Medeiros. Mr. Medeiros moved to this area in 1967. Dionisio worked as a silversmith for Reed & Barton for 42 years until his retirement. Mr. Medeiros enjoyed gardening, most of all he cherished time spent with his loving family.
Besides his wife Maria of over 48 years, survivors include his son, Robert D. “Bobby” Medeiros and his wife Jennifer of Cape Coral, FL; two daughters, Diane DeMatos and her husband Kenneth, and Delia Alves and her husband Mario, all of Taunton; his brother Teolfilo Medeiros, Jr. of Taunton; two sisters, Aida Medeiros and Zelia DaSilva, both of Taunton; eight grandchildren, Stephanie, Justin, Brooke, Amanda, Brandon, Ethan, Joshua and Kelsey; one great granddaughter and several nieces and nephews.
His funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton, on Saturday, Oct. 29th at 9 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Anthony Church at 10 a.m.
Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
Calling Hours will be held at the funeral home on Friday, Oct. 28th from 4 to 7pm.
