Rev. Msgr. Paul J. McManus age 100 of Boston passed away on October 16, 2016. Beloved son of the late Patrick J. and Mary (Donnelly) McManus. Late brother of Rev. James J. and John F. McManus, M.D. Brother-in-law of Aileen McManus of Yarmouth Port. Dear uncle of John A. of Yarmouth Port and James F. McManus of Leister, VT. Cousin of Mary Hand of W. Roxbury, Grace Donnelly of Plymouth and Terry McManus and Clare Hurley both of TX. Rev. McManus graduated from Boston College High School, Boston College and St. John’s Seminary and was ordained May 1st, 1942. He went on to serve at St. Margaret Mary’s , Westwood (1942-1947), Our Lady of Lourdes, Jamaica Plain (1947-1957), St Catherine’s, Norwood (1957-1964), St. Mary’s, Cambridge (1964-1968) St. Angela’s, Mattapan (1968-1973), Immaculate Conception, Malden (1973-1980), Mary Star of the Sea, Freeport, Bahamas (1981-1988), and St. Paul’s, Lyford Cay, Nassau, Bahamas (1988-1998). Rev. McManus is the oldest priest in Boston and has spent his last years 6 at Regina Cleri Residence in Boston. A concelebrated funeral Mass was held for Rev. McManus at St. Joseph’s Church, Boston with his Eminence Cardinal Sean P. O’Malley as the principal celebrant.
