Judith ‘Jude’ Maria of Provincetown passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Monday October 17, 2016. She was 66 years of age.
Born in Beverly, she was daughter of the late Antonio(Tony) and Mildred (Scanzani) Maria, and the granddaughter of Theresa (Nan) Scanzani, all of Beverly.
Jude was very well known in Provincetown. She was the owner of Café Express in the 1980’s and ventured into owning and operating her own kite store, Outer Cape Kite, for many years. She loved to spend her time in nature and loved the beaches of Provincetown. Walking her dog Koda in Beech Forest was one of her favorite activities.
She was very active in preserving and saving wildlife, volunteering and saving many animals by contributions to Wild Care in Eastham.
Jude loved her family and friends. Her door was always open for her many friends that came to visit each day, all year. She touched so many and will be sadly missed by all.
Jude leaves a brother Robert Maria of Danvers, her niece and godchild Kristine Maria of Merrimac, great nephew Randy Heywood, great niece Kassidy Heywood, both of Merrimac and niece Andrea Condon of Danvers. She also leaves her dog Koda & kitty Penny Lane. She was predeceased by her grandmother Theresa (Nan) Scanzani, her parents Tony & Millie(Scanzani) Maria, her sister Brenda (Maria)Condon and sister in law Patricia (Dupuis) Maria.
Family and Friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass at 11:00AM on Saturday October 29th at St Peters Apostle Church, Prince St, Provincetown. Burial will be private.
Additional Services will be held on Tuesday November 1st at 4:00PM at Campbells Funeral Home, 525 Cabot St, Beverly MA.
