Boston - Manuel N. Sousa, 60, of Westport died Monday, August 8, 2005 at Tufts New England Medical Center after a long illness. He was the husband of Patricia M. (Silvia) Sousa.
Born in Portugal a son of Jordao and Joaquina (Freitas) Sousa of Westport he had been a resident of Westport for 30 years. He was a communicant of St. George Church, Westport.
He had been employed by B.I.W. Cable Co. of Dighton as a machine operator until his illness. He had also been employed by the former Okinite Wire and Cable Co. and Frito-Lay Co. of Fall River. Mr. Sousa was a member of Club Madeirense S. S. Sacramento, Inc. of New Bedford.
In addition to his wife of 35 years and his parents he is survived by 2 daughters: Lori A. Silvia and her husband Michael of Westport and Linda M. Avedisian and her husband Todd of Newark, NY; 1 brother: Jordao Sousa, Jr. of Brentwood, NH; 2 sisters: Maria Sousa of Westport and Conceicao Medeiros of Fall River; 1 grandson: Tye Jacob Avedisian and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be Thursday at 8:30 A.M. from the Potter Funeral Home, 81 Reed Road, Westport followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. George Church, Westport at 9:30 A.M.
Interment in Beech Grove Cemetery, Westport.
