George W. Peterson, Jr., 53, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Sunday, October 16, 2016, at Dorminy Medical Center in Fitzgerald.
Graveside services will be held 4 PM, Monday, October 17, 2016, at Evergreen Cemetery in Fitzgerald.
Mr. Peterson was born October 26, 1962, in Turner County, Georgia, to the late George William & Lula Belle Garner Peterson. He earned his high school diploma from Penn Foster and later earned his pharmaceutical technician certification and paraprofessional certification as well. He was a machine operator and supervisor for Elixir Industries and Lippert Components. He worked in the tire and lube department at Wal-Mart and was also a substitute teacher at Ben Hill Primary. He was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife 33 years, Beth Peterson of Fitzgerald; his children: Kristopher George Peterson, Andrew Ralph Peterson, Elizabeth Nicole Peterson, and Christopher Eli Peterson and his wife Becky, all of Fitzgerald; his mother-in-law, Mary Roberts of Fitzgerald; a brother-in-law, Larry & Shirley Hankins of Tifton; a nephew, Philip & Becky Hankins; and two great-nieces: Mallory Hankins and Macy Hankins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Gregory Peterson.
