Obituary

BELMONT - Judith “Judy” Marie (Knowlton) McCoy, 76, of Belmont passed away peacefully on October 14, 2016, with her family by her side.
Judy was born on June 30, 1940 in Owls Head, Maine, the daughter of the late David and Margaret (Everett) Knowlton. After graduating Rockland High School she worked in Maine as a switchboard telephone operator until she happily became a mother. After her children were grown, she went to school to become a beautician. She loved making her friends and clients feel beautiful. Judy was a devoted Christian. She loved reading her Bible and went to church faithfully. She gave liberally to her church and to missionaries. Judy loved family gatherings, reading to her grandchildren, sending hand-written cards, gardening, music, singing, socializing with friends, and volunteering.
Judy leaves behind her loving husband of 38 years, William, and five children: Judith Belanger and her husband Bryan of Lee; Rebecca Macomber and her husband Elwin of Belmont; Mary Budro and her husband Shawn of Gilford; Ann McCoy of Concord; William McCoy III and his wife Ina of Brookline. Judith was loved by her eight grandchildren Bryan, Matthew, Benjamin, Samuel, Seth, Colby, Brandon, and her newest grandson William IV born just two months ago. Judy was also loved by her many great-grandchildren. She is survived by two sisters Betty Curtis and her husband Oliver of Owls Head, Maine and Brenda Kaler and her husband Greg of Thomaston, Maine and many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will honor and remember Judy’s life by gathering at the Lochmere Baptist Church, 17 Church Street in Lochmere, at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, October 19, 2016.
