
Irene S. (Woronicz) Paglierani, 93, died Saturday October 15, 2016 surrounded by her family at Life Care Center of W. Bridgewater. She was the wife of her late husband Joseph. Irene was born in Bridgewater to the late Stanislaw and Bronislawa (Zakszewska) Woronicz and was a 1941 graduate of Bridgewater High School. She had been a Brockton resident for more than 60 years. For many years Irene worked for the State Unemployment Office in Brockton. She had been a volunteer for the Brockton VA Hospital and active in the Women’s Auxiliary of the Italian American War Veterans. But first and foremost she was a wonderful wife and mother. She had very strong faith and was devoted to her family, especially enjoying holidays with them. She was an avid homemaker and especially enjoyed knitting, crocheting and baking.
Irene is survived by her three children: Ronald Paglierani and his wife Patricia of Scituate, Jean Paglierani and her partner Jim Romp of Taunton, and Lori Fopiano and her husband Rick of Walpole; her brothers and families, Edmund and Rose Woronicz, and Stephen and LouAnn Woronicz; her 5 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews. She was also the sister to the late Henry Woronicz and Elvira Parenteau.
Visitation will be on Thursday in the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton from 8:15 to 9:30am followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Bridgewater at 10am. Burial immediately following in St. Thomas Aquinas Cemetery. In memory of Irene memorial donations may be made to the Ann Romney Center for Neurological Diseases at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital Development Office, 116 Huntington Avenue, 3rd Floor, Boston, MA 02116.
