David W. Doig a 19 year resident of Melrose and former resident of Lexington and East Boston died at his home on Sunday, August 7, 2005, following a long battle with cancer. He was 61 years old.
David was born in Somerville and grew up in East Boston where he attended Boston Public Schools and graduated from East Boston High School. Following graduation, he worked as a truck driver for the Boston Herald Newspaper for several years. He also worked for both Agar and James E. Kilduff, Inc., produce companies, as a truck driver.
David is the loving husband of Catherine M. “Kay” (Doherty) Doig. He is the brother of Ronald Doig and his wife Carol of FL, Brother-in-law of Helen Murphy and her husband Dodie of Charlestown, James Doherty and his wife Marie of Stoneham and Margaret Drake and her husband Greg of Melrose. Uncle of Steven Doig and his wife Melisa of Ashby, Debra Hustins and her husband Jim of Tynsboro, and many nieces and nephews of the Doherty family.
David’s visiting hours and Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday evening August 10, 2005 with the visiting hours being from 4 to 8 pm. followed by a Funeral Service at 8 pm. Interment will be private.
