FALL RIVER... Patricia Ann Powers, May 27, 1945 - October 13, 2016, passed away peacefully at St. Anne’s Hospital at the age of 71 after a brief illness. The daughter of the late Thomas L. Powers and Mary (Pavao) Powers, she is survived by her son Tim Powers of Fall River, her mother Mary of Fall River, Massachusetts, her aunt Eva (Pavao) Dupont of Taunton, Massachusetts, Jacqueline (Pavao) Vincent of Fall River, uncle Tom and aunt Marie (McColligan) Pavao of Somerset, cousins Stephen Rebello of Los Angeles, California, and Thomas Pavao Jr. of Fall River, Massachusetts. Patricia is also survived by her godchild Marie (Pavao) Merrill of Dennis, Massachusetts, and nephew Brian Dupont of Salem, Massachusetts. Born in Fall River, Patricia (“Patty” to most) graduated in 1963 from Somerset High School and was employed for several decades as a Health and Disability caseworker for the Health and Human Services Department of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Always an outgoing, fun-loving person, after retiring, she enjoyed traveling, dining out, and rooting for her favorite sports teams. She successfully battled a major health challenge throughout 2015. She enjoyed the companionship of a very supportive group of friends, including Jim Flannery of Fall River. Her laughter, zest for life, fighting spirit, and more will be deeply missed by her family. Funeral Mass to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Friday, Oct. 28, 2016 at 10 AM at St. Patrick’s Church, 306 South St, Somerset, MA followed by inurnment at St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Somerset.
