Obituary

HOLLIS- Kenneth B. Mains, age 71, of Cape Road, passed away on Oct. 13, 2016 at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House from a longtime heart condition.
He was born in Westbrook on May 30, 1945, a son of the late Lindel and Jeanette (Tyler) Mains.
After graduating from Bonny Eagle High School, Ken worked for CMP for several years and then went on to open Ken's Service Station located at the Deer Pond Intersection in Hollis, which he operated for around 15 years. He retained ownership of the property afterward and leased it to others that wanted to own a garage.
Ken received many awards and trophies for his black 1934 Chevy street-rod that he built. This accomplishment was something he was very proud of. He went all over New England with it to National Street Rod Association events.
One of Ken's favorite pastimes was enjoying the company of friends and family at his camp in Canton. He loved towing his grandchildren up and down the lake on a tube with his pontoon boat.
Ken was a lifelong motorcycle fanatic and enjoyed building street-rods. He also enjoyed four wheeling around on the Moosehead Lake area trails and locally.
He is survived by his significant other- Kim Mariner of Hollis; sons- Glen R. Mains and his fiance Sabrina Violette of Hollis and Craig W. Mains of Buxton; brother- Dana Mains; sister Linda Light; and grandchildren- Carolyn and Lorraine Mains.
