North Port, FL-----Dorsie Worthington Marcum 83, died Tuesday, October 11, 2016 surrounded by her loving family.
Born May 3, 1933 in Paris, KY, Dorsie was raised in Lexington, KY and was daughter to the late Omer Lee and Mary Agnus (Pitts) Worthington. Having graduated nursing college in 1953, she worked as a registered nurse in several hospitals, private practice offices and in home healthcare for many years including in the Northport, Englewood and Venice area.
Dorsie was a resident of Lazy River in Northport, FL for over 30 years and known and respected by many in her community.
Dorsie is survived by her three sons. David Marcum and his wife, Peg of Fairfield, CT, James Marcum and his wife, Sharon of Laconia, NH and John Marcum and his wife Marsha of Killingworth, CT; five grandchildren, Heather, John, Kristin, Kaitlyn and Celia; two great-grandchildren,Haiden and Holden and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her husband, Hiram David Marcum and her brother, Thomas Worthington.
Services will be at a later date.
