Obituary

Lafayette H. Pellerin
Manchester– Lafayette H. “Pal” Pellerin, 94, died October 10, 2016 at Mt. Carmel Rehabilitation and Nursing Home following a period of declining health.
He was born in Manchester on November 20, 1921 the son of Joseph and Eva (Gagnon) Pellerin.
He will remembered for his love of family, work ethic, integrity, and tenacious spunk.
He served his country in the U.S.Army in World War II earning the Silver Star for bravery in combat action.
He worked for Sanders for over 30 years.
During his retirement he enjoyed golf, gardening, and carpentry, he especially enjoyed making saw horses for children.
He was devoted to the care of his wife Pauline.
He was predeceased by his wife Pauline (Duval) Pellerin. Together they had 3 children; Judith Sturgill (now deceased), Ronald Pellerin and his wife, Linda, and Donna Strasburger and her husband, John.
In addition, “Pep” as he was affectionately known is survived by 5 grandchildren; Sean Sturgill and his wife, Dawn, Scott Sturgill and husband, Guy Aucoin, Katrina Schilling and husband Scott, Eric Pellerin and wife Si, Jon Strasburger and wife, Michelle, as well as 4 great grandchildren, 1 brother, Paul Pellerin and his wife, Jane and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by 3 brothers and 1 sister.
He later married Patricia (Duval) Pellerin and leaves step children; Anne Leroux, Nicole Warren, David Duval, Scott Duval, Judith Dufresne; and many step grandchildren and great grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the caring staff at Mt. Carmel nursing home for the devoted care of Lafayette.
Calling hours will be on Thursday from 4 to 7 PM at J. N. Boufford & Sons Funeral Home, 110 Bridge St.
A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10 AM in St. Peter Church, Auburn.
Committal services and military honors will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 166 S. River Rd. # 210, Bedford NH 03110, or to Catholic Charities of NH, 215 Myrtle St, Manchester NH, In memory of Lafayette Pellerin. All proceeds will assist Mt Carmel Nursing Home.
