Claire M. Martel 85, of Newton St. died October 8, 2016 at the Philip Hulitar Center. She was the wife of the late Henry G. “Pete” Martel. Born in Woonsocket, she was a daughter of the late John B.H. and Alice (Olivier) Savard. Claire did data processing for CVS for twenty years before retiring in 2000. She previously worked at the former Jacob Finklestein and Sons for twenty five years.
She is survived by her son Denis N. Martel of Lincoln, two granddaughters Kathleen Uva and Lisa Coulombe, three great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings Hugo, Raymond, Gerard, Paul, and Aline Savard, Jeanne Bonin, Lucille Sweeney, Rachel Martineau, and Monique Black.
Her funeral with visitation will be held Wednesday at 9:00 AM from the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 463 South Main St. Woonsocket, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM in St. Joseph’s Church, Mendon Rd. Woonsocket. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery in Cumberland.
