Albert J. Saucier, 48, of New Bedford died Friday May 24, 2002 at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Boston after a long illness. He was the husband of Joan M. (Spillane) Saucier,and son of Alice (St. Onge) Saucier of Acushnet and the late Normand P. Saucier.
Born in New Bedford and raised in Acushnet, he lived in New Bedford for most of his life.
Mr. Saucier was formerly employed as a licensed fireman for Chamberlain Manufacturing.
He was a graduate of New Bedford Vocational High School in the Steam Engineering Department. He was an avid Red Sox fan and a 17 year friend of Bill W. His greatest pleasures were his family, fishing, and baseball.
Survivors include wife and mother; a son, Ryan Albert Saucier of New Bedford; 3 daughters, Joy K. Saucier, Desiree A. Saucier, Felicity H. Saucier, all of New Bedford; 5 brothers, Normand Saucier of Fairhaven, Richard Saucier, Philip Saucier, and Mark Saucier, all of Acushnet, and Daniel Saucier of Dartmouth; 2 sisters, Rose-Marie Souza of Fairhaven and Anne-Marie Cafferty of Acushnet; and many nieces and nephews.He was the grandson of the late Philip St. Onge and son-in-law of the late Ida Bithoney.
Funeral from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New BedfordTuesday May 28, 2002 at 7:45 AM.Funeral Mass at St. Francis Xavier Church, Acushnet at 9 AM.Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours Monday evening 6-9 PM. Burial will be in Acushnet Cemetery.
